Ravi Shastri, former coach of the Indian cricket team, has broken his silence when Virat Kohli retired from sudden Test cricket and through a video he openly talked about it. Shastri believes that Virat Kohli’s test career could have been better handed over and should have been given a great Farewell.

Shastri said that if he were selector, he would have made him captain again after the Australia series. Kohli said goodbye to his Test career last month between IPL 2025. He played 123 matches for India, scoring 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85, including 30 centuries.

Shastri said in a video shared on social media, “When you go, people realize how big a player he was. I am sad that he left, the way he went, he is very sad. I think it could have been handled better and more conversation should have been. If I had to do with it, I would have made him a captain after Australia.”

After Kohli’s retirement and captain Rohit Sharma’s outdoor, the selectors appointed Shubman Gill as captain for the England series starting on June 20. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see what is the beginning of Shubman Gill’s captaincy.
