Netherlands broke Team India’s 12 -year -old record, tried 370 runs against Scotland

The Netherlands made history by achieving a huge target of 370 runs against Scotland in the Cricket World Cup League 2 on Thursday (June 12). This is the record for achieving the third largest successful goal in ODI history and the Dutch team also broke India’s 12 -year -old record in this matter. Team India achieved a huge target of 360 runs against Australia at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur in 2013.

Batting first in this match, Scotland batsman George Munse played a brilliant innings of 191 runs off just 150 balls with the help of 14 fours and 11 sixes. Captain Matthew Cross supported him well and added 150 runs for the fifth wicket. Munse was burnt in the innings as he scored 191 runs out of 369 runs in 50 overs.

After the first innings, it seemed that this target was going to be very difficult for the Netherlands but their openers Max O’Dod and Michael Lewet got 67 runs in less than 10 overs to give the team a great start by adding 67 runs and after that the rest of the batsmen also performed brilliantly and made the match in their grip. In the second half of the innings, Teja Nidamanuru, along with Dod, played an important role in winning the team.

He added 111 runs for the fifth wicket to lead the Dutch team to win again and Dod ensured that he stayed unbeaten till the end. He scored 158 runs off 130 balls with the help of 13 fours and four sixes and finally Noa Cross also scored 50 runs off 29 balls, leading the Netherlands a target of 370 runs with four balls remaining.

This is the first time he pursued a target of more than 300 runs in his ODI history and thus overtaken India and England records. England successfully achieved the target of 361 runs against the West Indies by losing six wickets with eight balls remaining.
