Story:
According to religious belief, Lord Krishna told the story of this Chaturthi to Yudhishthira. He said that O Kuntiputra! The name of Ganesha of Ashada Krishna Chaturthi is Lambodar. In Dwapara Yuga, Mahishmati was a king named Mahjit in the city. He was very proud and virtuous. He used to follow the subjects like a child but he himself was childless. Time went on and the king’s age was reduced. The king became old, but he did not get a child. Subsequently, the king discussed this subject with scholar Brahmins, knowledgeables and subjects.
The learned Brahmins and people said, “O Rajan! We will make all the efforts that will increase your lineage.” Saying this, all the Brahmins went away. In the forest, the people and the Brahmins were seen absorbed in a Munishreshtha penance. His name was Lomash Rishi. The subjects and Gianijan Trikaldarshi started seeing Maharishi Lomash and started to honor him. After this, the subjects said, “Hey Rishivar! Listen to the reason for the sorrow of us, we have come before you to relieve our suffering.
Maharishi Lomash asked, “Gentlemen! What wish have you been present here?”
The Prajajan replied, “O Munivar! We are residents of Mahishmati city. Our king’s name is Mahjit. He is the king Prajapalak, but such a good king has not received children till date. O Maharshi!
Listening to the subjects, Maharishi Lomash said, “O Prajajan! Listen carefully. I am describing the crisis fasting. will receive.’ Hearing this, all the people stood up after listening to Maharishi Lomash.
The king was very pleased to hear the people and he duly fasted Ganesh Chaturthi and donated food to the Brahmins. Later, Rani Sudakshina received a beautiful and beautiful son by Ganesh ji grace.
