Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has spoken to Iran’s President Masood Pageshkian. During the conversation, PM Sharif expressed solidarity with Iran and described the Israeli attack as provocative action. Israel has launched Operation Rising Lion and attacked military bases including Iran’s atom. Many senior military commanders and nuclear scientists have been killed in these attacks. Later Iran has also retaliated on Israel.
Sharif condemns Israel’s attacks
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif strongly condemned the Israeli attacks against Iran in a telephone conversation with Poraskian on Saturday. He said that the attack is against Iran’s sovereignty and regional integrity. Sharif has described the Israeli attack as a violation of the United Nations Charter and International Law.
‘Iran has the right to self -defense’
PM Sharif said in a post on Social Media Forum X, “Iran spoke to Dr. Masood Pageshkian today and expressed the unwavering solidarity of Pakistan with the people of Iran in front of the Israeli invasion.” Sharif said that Iran had the right to self -defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. He described Israeli attacks as a serious threat to regional, global peace and stability.

Radio Pakistan said in its news that PM Sharif has urged the international community and the United Nations to take immediate and effective steps to curb Israel’s “aggressive stance and its illegal acts”. He said that Pakistan is fully committed to promoting peace in the region and is ready to play its role in this context.

Iran’s President Porashakian thanked Prime Minister Sharif for the support and solidarity of Pakistan with Iran, especially in the United Nations Security Council. He said that this sentiment of Sharif reflects close relations between the two countries. (Language)
