PM Modi Cyprus Visit: Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi arrived in Cyprus on a two -day visit on Sunday. The journey is considered important in many ways, especially in view of the increasing tension between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack and ‘Operation Sindoor’.

When Prime Minister Modi reached Cyprus on Sunday evening, the President Nicos Christodaulides himself was present to welcome him, which symbolizes strong relations between the two countries. Indian PM visits after two decades
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become the first Indian Prime Minister to travel to Cyprus in more than two decades. Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal also highlighted the Indo-sprus partnership based on shared values and aspirations on ‘X’. He reported that both President Christodolidase and Foreign Minister Constantinose Kombos welcomed the Prime Minister at the airport, which reflects deep historical relations between the two countries. Jaiswal said that there would be widespread discussion to further deepen bilateral relations.

Cyprus President Christodolidase described Prime Minister Modi’s visit as “historic” and “a new chapter in strategic partnership, which has no limit”. He posted on ‘X’, “Welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi Cyprus. Here, welcome to the European Union (EU) south-eastern border and the entrance of the Mediterranean Sea. We promise to move forward, bring change and become more prosperous.”
Enthusiasts welcome by Indian migrants
On reaching the hotel, Prime Minister Modi was enthusiastically welcomed by the Indian migrants with the slogans of ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. Modi thanked the Indian community for his affection and said that India will continue to work to deepen relations with Cyprus.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also met his counterpart Constantinose Kombos at Cyprus at Larnaka International Airport. Jaishankar expressed confidence that Prime Minister Modi’s Cyprus visit will further strengthen the long -term bilateral relations and partnership between India and the European Union.
