Limasol (Cyprus): From the land of Cyprus, PM Modi has again made the world realize India’s growing power. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at a commercial round table conference in Limasol city of Cyprus on Sunday that India is soon forward towards becoming the third largest economy in the world. Explain that this conference was held in the presence of Cyprus President Nicos Christodulids. During this, Cyprus President Nicos Christodolidase awarded Prime Minister Narendra Modi the highest honor of Cyprus with the Grand Cross of the Order of Makaros III.

This honor shows his efficient leadership, global diplomacy and contribution to international cooperation. India will soon become the third big economy of the world, PM Modi
Underlining India’s economic progress in the last decade, Prime Minister Modi said that stability in policy-making, improvement in business environment, digital revolution and next generation reforms have made India the world’s fastest growing major economy. He said, “India is the fifth largest economy in the world today and it will reach third place very soon. There have been many major changes in India like tax reforms, corporate tax cuts, ending criminalization of laws, and increasing trust in business.”
Cooperation will be stronger in these areas with Cyprus
On the occasion, PM Modi emphasized the possibility of strengthening bilateral relations with Cyprus and said that India and Cyprus could have deep support in areas such as trade, investment, digital payments, tourism, defense, logistics and startups. PM Modi said that the impact of India’s digital revolution is being seen all over the world. “Today 50 percent of the world’s digital transactions are in India, the credit goes to the Unified Payments Interface (UPI),” he said. In this sequence, an agreement has been signed between NPCI International and Eurobank Cyprus, which will make border pay payment possible between the two countries.
Several agreements sign with Cyprus
Another important agreement was signed in Cyprus and India during this period, with cooperation between the NSE International Exchange (Gift City, Gujarat) and the Cyprus Stock Exchange. This is the first financial support between Europe and India. Prime Minister Modi also said that many Indian companies see Cyprus as an entrance to Europe, especially in the fields of IT, tourism and financial services.
India’s PM reached Cyprus after 23 years
PM Modi said that “This is the first time in 23 years when an Indian Prime Minister Cyprus has come and the first program was a business roundtable, which shows how important the economic relations between the two countries are.”
This big deal was also done between Indo-Gris and Cyprus
India -Gris -Cyprus together has announced the establishment of a tripartite trade and investment council (IGC). Which will promote cooperation in areas such as shipping, green energy, aviation and digital services. Prime Minister Modi’s visit is also considered to be strategically important even in the context of long -standing political tension between Cyprus and Türkiye.
