Trump told Obama and Trudeau about Russia, said- “4 years ago …”
Trump targeted Obama and Trudeau.
US President Donald Trump criticized former President Barack Obama and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for excluding Russia from the G8 summit years ago. He said, “G7 used to be G8 earlier. About nine years ago, Russia was excluded, which I believe was a serious mistake. At that time, leaders like Barack Obama and Justin Trudeau did not want to include Russia, but if Russia would be involved in the talks, maybe we would not have faced war today. If I were the President 4 years ago, we were not fighting now.”
‘Putin insulted’
Trump said Russia leader Vladimir Putin is no longer “not on the table, so it makes life more complicated.” Trump said, “Putin talks to me. They don’t talk to anyone else. They do not want to talk, because when they were taken out of the G8, they were very insulted, as I would, anyone else.” Asked by a reporter whether China should also be added? Trump said- “This is not a bad idea. If someone wants to see only China joining, then I have no objection.” The US President said that it is important for world leaders to be able to talk to each other at summit.
‘To get Russia out a big mistake’
US President Donald Trump suggested at the Group of Seven Summit on Monday that Russia and perhaps China should also be part of the organization. The US President indicated that he would like the G7, G8 or possibly G9. Trump insisted that Russia was a “big mistake” removing Russia after capturing Crimea in 2014, a step that promoted Russia’s broad attack on Ukraine in 2022. (Input-PTI)
