Punjab by -election AAP won, defeated Congress by 10,637 votes, BJP third

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won in the by -election in the West Assembly seat of Ludhiana in Punjab. AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora defeated Bharat Bhushan Ashu of Congress by 10637 votes.

At the same time, BJP’s Jeevan Gupta at number three and Paraupakar Singh Ghumman of Shiromani Akali Dal at number four. The counting took place at the auditorium of Khalsa College for Women. First went to the postal ballot. This was followed by counting votes from EVM.

The lead of AAP increased continuously for 3 rounds, but decreased in fourth, fifth and sixth rounds. In all three rounds, the Congress candidate got the most votes. After the AAP lead declined in 3 rounds, it started growing again from 7th.

It was discussed that Arvind Kejriwal can go to Arvind Kejriwal on his vacant Rajya Sabha seat after winning Sanjeev Arora’s election. However, after winning the election, Kejriwal clarified that the decision will be taken by AAP’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC), but I am not going to Rajya Sabha.

The seat was voted for the by -election on June 19, in which 51.33% of the voters voted. AAP candidate Gurpreet Gogi won from this seat in 2022. However, he died after being shot a few months ago. This was followed by a by -election here.
