India vs england 1st Test Day 4 Highlights: India maintained its dominance on England on the fourth day of the Handingley Test. Team India scored 364 runs in the second innings thanks to the brilliant century partnership of KL Rahul (137) and Rishabh Pant (118) and gave England a huge target of 371 runs to win. However, in the final session, India lost the last five wickets in just 31 runs. The day ended the day by England by scoring 21 runs without losing wickets, where Jack Crolyse and Ben Docket stayed at the crease.

India started playing 90/2 on the fourth day. Captain Shubman Gill (8 runs) also returned to the pavilion after Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudarshan, who was out on the third day. After this, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul took the front and shared an important partnership of 195 runs for the fourth wicket. Both also scored a brilliant century. By the end of the first session, India had come into a strong position.

India’s score was 298/4 till T-Break. Rishabh Pant played an aggressive innings of 118 runs and became the first Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to score a century in both innings. Rahul also scored a brilliant 137 runs, due to which Rahul has now become India’s first opener to score three centuries in Test cricket in England. However, the partnership broke as soon as Pant was dismissed and after that England started a comeback. Karun Nair was dismissed for 20 runs while no batsman could stand in the lower order.

In the third session, India’s entire team was all out for 364 runs. The last 5 wickets fell within just 31 runs. Ravindra Jadeja returned unbeaten after scoring 25* runs. For England, Bridan Cars and Josh Tung took 3-3 wickets, while Shoaib Bashir took 2 and Vox-Stokes took 1–1 wickets.

In response, England started carefully and scored 21 runs without losing wickets till the end of the day’s play. Now at the beginning of the decisive day, India will expect victory on the basis of bowlers, while the England batsmen will have a chance to prove themselves.
