Private buses and trucks will not run in Maharashtra from July 1- know the reason
Maharashtra I have called for an indefinite strike from July 1 on protest and other demands, including ‘transporters’ including private bus and truck operators. Other issues include infrastructure deficiencies and lack of traffic rules. A statement said that all the transporters have united under the banner of ‘Waqtukdar Bachao Kruti Samiti’ and have announced to start the strike from next month. Apart from this, indefinite strike is also going on at Azad Maidan in Mumbai from 16 June.
Many transport associations support the strike
Earlier, the Working Committee ended its indefinite sit-in demonstration after Maharashtra Minister Uday Samant on Thursday assured of calling a meeting with police and transport department representatives. An organization of bus operators, Mumbai Bus Malak Sangathan (MBMS) claimed that several transport associations across Maharashtra have supported the strike and warned that if their problems and concerns are not resolved, there may be disruption in both passenger services and goods transportation.
If the complaints are not resolved, indefinite strike will start
“If the government ignores our pending complaints even after June 30, various passenger transport organizations across Maharashtra have unanimously decided to start the indefinite ‘keys of all vehicles’ protests from July 1,” MBMS said.
What are the demands of transporters
Pune-based transporter leader Baba Shinde said that the demands include stopping the extortion of the e-challan fine, waiving the existing punishment, canceling the compulsory cleaner rules for heavy vehicles and rethinking the admission prohibition on time. The statement said that he has received huge support from private bus operators and passenger transport and inter -state bus services.
