Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra has been stopped once again due to heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir. Landslides occurred on the Himkoti track due to torrential rains. This disrupted the Vaishno Devi Yatra route. After the landslide incident, the new journey route of Vaishno Devi Yatra has been completely closed. This is the third time this year when this route has closed due to bad weather. Battery cars, cable cars and helicopter services have also been temporarily stopped due to landslides.

After the rains, the debris has accumulated up to 30 feet on the Himkoti road and the route has been blocked due to falling big stones. However, Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and Administration have started immediate relief work and keeping in mind the safety of the passengers, the journey has been continued by traditional old routes.

Administration appeal for passengers

The administration has appealed to the passengers to be cautious in view of the weather and follow the authorized routes and guidelines only. Also, Shrine Board teams and disaster management forces are deployed on the spot and the work of removing debris is going on fast. Earlier, this route was closed due to heavy rains twice in June, causing inconvenience to passengers. Administrative officials say that they are constantly monitoring the situation and all services will be restored when the situation is normal.

There was a landslide on Tuesday too

There was a landslide on the new route of Mata Vaishno Devi temple on Tuesday. The road was closed due to landslides over the Trikuta hills in Reasi district. However, due to this, the battery car service was discontinued, which was resumed after a short time. Officials said there was a landslide near the Satya View Point on the Himkoti route. However, pilgrims were not moving at this time. In such a situation, no one was injured in this incident. After removing the debris, the journey on the new route started again. At the same time, by the time the new route was closed, the journey continued by the old way.
