New rule for us visa: The US embassy in India has issued new guidelines for immigrants applying for US visas. Based on the latest statement, the US State Department has warned that if the applicants are found to be lies about their presence on social media, they will be banned or rejected visas. Last month, the Trump administration said that all American visa applicants would have to share their social media accounts.

In the latest announcement released on Thursday, the US embassy in India has said that applicants will have to give a list of social media accounts that they have been using for at least five years. The statement said, “Before the signature and submitting the applicants, the information given in their visa application is true and correct. Leaving social media information may reject the visa and disqualify future visas.”

US government increased social media investigation

Under Trump’s rule, the US government has increased its surveillance on social media. Foreign students have been warned from detaining on the basis of their posts to cancellation of visas. Meanwhile, the Trump administration has clearly stated that it will use a social media account to investigate people coming or living there.

What happened to the Norwegian student?

In the most recent case, 21 -year -old Norwegian student claimed that he was detained at Newark Airport due to the MIMS of US Vice President JD Vance over his phone.
