Not only iPhone, Made in India Android phones also flourish, demand increased from rocket speed

Along with the iPhone made in India, the demand for Android smartphone has also increased rapidly. Especially Made in India phones are being exported the most in America. Compared to last year, there has been a big jump in the export of Android phones along with iPhones made in India this year. Many recent market research firms have claimed that most companies have turned to India after Donald Trump put a big tariff on China.

Tremendous demand in America

According to the Canalys Research firm report, Motorola has exported 1.6 million smartphones in India in the first 5 months of 2025. 99% of these phones have been sent to America. Last year, the company exported only 1 million units. Motorola’s smartphone in India makes Dixon technology.

Talking about other brands, South Korean company Samsung has exported 9.45 lakh smartphones in India between January and May in the US market. Last year, the company exported only 6.45 lakh phones. According to a Canalys report, Vietnam has been imposed 46% tariff by the US. However, there is talk of a trade deal between the US and Vietnam, due to which the decision has been stopped at the moment.

How many calls did the company export?

According to the Canalys report, between January and May this year Samsung has exported 11.5 million phones made in India. The company exported a total of 25 million phones last year. Talk about Motorola, the company exported 1 million phones. At the same time, between January and May this year, the company has exported 1.6 million phones.

Transition Holdings, a phone -making company of Infinix, Tecno and ITEL, has exported 2.8 lakh phones between January and May this year. At the same time, the company exported 1.7 lakh phones in total last year. Vivo has also exported 2.5 lakh phones between January and May this year. At the same time, last year the company exported a total of 3.5 million phones.

Why did Made in India phone demand?

The main reason for increasing the demand of phones made in India is the PLI scheme of the Modi government, in which the phone making companies are offered production linked inset. Apart from Dixon, Foxconn and Tata Electronics are receiving incentives from the government through this scheme. Apart from America, phones made in India are also exported to Africa and UAE. This is the reason that India is gradually becoming a global hub of smartphone manufacturing.
