He said, in the beginning, I could not understand myself what is there in the panchayat that makes it so special. But then realized, this is the real India. Its simplicity, its truth, everyday stories of small cities which are told with such heart – this is the biggest strength of the panchayat.
Raghubir said, there is no villain, no more drama. There are just real people, who are living life honestly in their own way. And the love of people is… When the release date increased from July 2 to June 24, everyone became restless. Everyone was saying, ‘Thank God waiting a little less, it looked very heavy for a few days!’
The show is not just a character or script for Raghubir Yadav, but has become a personal experience. He said, when I read the script for the first time, I came out of my mouth – there is no place for acting in it, we have to live with these characters. These are not just roles, they are people of real life. To fulfill them with truth, it was necessary to completely immerse yourself.
Raghubir said, the handwriting was so true that the emotion hidden between the pages was deeper than the things written. I myself grew up in the village, studying there, and lived among the same people of the sarpanch and the panchayat. Through theater, I have traveled to small cities Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, UP, Rajasthan for years, where they saw such people, spent time between them. The habit of watching and understanding people carefully became the basis of my acting. So when the ‘Panchayat’ came, it did not just put a project, it felt like his own.
