Roston Chase, raging on umpires after defeat against Australia, said- ‘Gave a lot of suspicious decisions’
Roston Chase on Umpires: Australia cricket team defeated West Indies by a margin of 159 runs on the third day of the first Test match played in Barbados to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. After the defeat in this match, West Indies captain Roston Chase has criticized the decisions of umpiring and said that many important decisions went against his side, which had a great impact on the outcome of the match.
Head coach Darren Sammy also expressed his concerns about umpiring, especially he raised questions about the performance of the TV umpire Adrian Holdstock. “This match is disappointing for me and the team because we were dismissing Australia on a relatively low score. We were very happy with this,” Chase quoted ESPNCRICINFO.
Speaking further, Chase said, “This may be a heart -breaking. Will feel bad about it. You are playing to win, giving everything to you and it seems that everyone is against you. “
Chase demanded more accountability of the umpires for poor decisions, especially when the ICC is currently reviewing the performance of the international umpires and considering removal from the elite panel based on merit.
Taking up his point, Chase said, “This is disappointing because as players, when we mess, when we get out of the line, we are punished harshly. But this is never done to the authorities. They just take wrong decisions or take suspicious decisions and life goes on.”
