The flight was safely landed in Mumbai and the process of replacing the aircraft was started. Our ground colleagues in Mumbai provided all the necessary assistance to reduce the discomfort. The safety and goodness of our guests and crew is the highest priority. “
Last victim identified with DNA sampling

The last victim has been identified from DNA matching more than two weeks after the Ahmedabad plane crash and the number of dead in this accident has now increased to 260. Officials gave this information on Saturday. He said that the body of the last victim has been handed over to his family. Medical authorities had earlier reported the death toll 270. The Air India aircraft, which went to London on June 12 from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, crashed in a hostel complex in Meghaninagar area of Ahmedabad. In this accident, 241 people aboard the aircraft and several others on the ground died. A passenger miraculously survived.

Superintendent of Government Hospital, Ahmedabad, Dr. Rakesh Joshi said, “The DNA of the last dead person of the Air India aircraft accident has been matched. The dead body has been handed over to his family members.” He said, “With this, the death toll in the plane crash has increased to 260.” He said that three people injured in the plane crash are undergoing treatment in the government hospital. So far, the bodies of all 260 dead have been handed over to their families. Officials said the bodies of 240 were already identified from 241 people (including passengers and crew members), while DNA was yet to be matched. On Friday, the identity of the victim was confirmed by the matching of DNA samples. He said that apart from 241 passengers and crew members, 19 people present on the ground died.
