Rules apply for passengers going to Hemkund Sahib, these goods cannot be taken with them
Hemkund Sahib
Important guidelines have been issued for the devotees visiting Hemkund Sahib. In view of the recent incidents in Srinagar and Joshimath, the police have decided to ban sharp weapons. This decision has been taken with weapons like swords, spears and saber, especially associated with the traditions of the Sikh community.
What is the new rule?
From now on, these weapons can be brought to the boundaries of Uttarakhand state without edge. IG of Garhwal says that every year thousands of Sikh devotees visit Uttarakhand to visit Hemkund Sahib. For them, weapons are not only part of the tradition, but also a symbol of faith and identity. However, safety risks are also increasing along with the increasing number of devotees.
Permission for weapons without edge
Police have clarified that passengers can take only symbolic and edge weapons to travel. Police captains of all the districts of the range have been instructed to keep a strict monitoring on the borders to ensure that the rules are followed.
