Claims in PIL of Advocate Sion Banerjee…
Monojo Mishra, the main accused in the case, has been conducting activities in the name of the Students Union of South Calcutta Law College.
No student union elections were held in West Bengal since 2017, yet alumni and non-elected persons are running the union office illegally.
All the student union offices continue their operations without any approval or provision of law.
It is a matter of concern that students, officials, class representatives, who were elected in the last election, are still coming to the campus on the basis of the previous post in the student union.
Police said- all three accused are misleading
Police said that the three accused are making separate statements so that the investigation can be wandered. An official said that all three are law students, they get some legal moves. At the same time, the police are trying to find out who, Jab Ahmed and Pramit Mukherjee, who met or who were in contact with whom, a few hours before their arrest.
Police questioned the Vice Principal of Law College twice
The police have also questioned the college’s Vice-Principal Dr. Nayana Chatterjee twice. Manoja Mishra spoke to him on the phone on the morning of 26 June. On Wednesday, the police also questioned 16 people who were present in the college campus at the time of the incident.
The police have found a stain on a sheet seized from the security guard’s room, and it is being investigated whether he had any connection with the incident.
Meanwhile, the Detective Department (DD) of Kolkata Police has taken the investigation into the case on Wednesday. Till now the SIT was investigating.
