Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao shared a post on social media and wrote, ‘Yesterday was a prayer meeting. Last goodbye time. She always used to say that she wants to become a girl alone and the only ‘fork lag’. So we never made a sequel to it and will never make it now.

He further wrote, we are retiring ‘Kanta Laga’ forever. This song was always from Shefali and will always remain her.

The director pair made it clear that this decision is not a part of a marketing trick, but a true and emotional tribute in memory of Shefali Jariwala. Just as a veteran player is retired, similarly this song will also be with Shefali’s name.

How Shefali was cast for a fork

Vinay Sapru spoke with ANI and said that our journey started from Mumbai’s Linking Road. Radhika and I were driving and passing through a forest. We saw a young woman crossing the path on a scooter hugging her mother.

He said, as soon as we passed there, Radhika felt that the girl was very special. So we stopped and asked her if she would come to our office. And this is where our journey started.

Please tell that Shefali Jariwala worked in the song ‘Kanta Laga’ at the age of 19. His bold style and dancing style caught people’s attention in this song. Shefali’s hairstyle, dance moves and expressions in the song made him a pop culture icon.
