The world’s veteran IT company Microsoft has stopped its 25 -year -old operations in the country under the developments of Pakistan’s Information Technology (IT) sector.

The move, taken with Microsoft’s silence, was informed by Microsoft’s founding manager Jawad Rahman in a linked -in post.

Rahman played a big role in establishing Microsoft in Pakistan. He has also highlighted the challenges facing businesses under the current situation in Pakistan. Microsoft started operations in Pakistan in the year 2000, which started with the ambitions of digital changes and technology-friendly cooperation. Earlier, the company had announced the trimming of its 9,000 employees in Pakistan this week.

Microsoft collaborated with the government in these 25 years by implementing enterprise solutions in various industries and implementing various e-governance projects. The company has played a major role in developing Pakistan’s IT sector by overseeing the capacity building program for the country.

Microsoft has taken this step at a time when Pakistan is in critical economic condition. In a post on social media site ‘X’, former President Dr. Arif Alvi expressed disappointment over Microsoft’s decision and expressed concern about the economic future of the country. Edited by: Sudhir Sharma
