Everyone worried about Yamuna- CM Rekha Gupta

On the cleanliness of Yamuna, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, ‘Our government is fighting on all fronts. From our Prime Minister to the common man, everyone is worried about Yamuna. All the fresh water coming to Delhi is used to drink through Yamuna.

200 drains fall in Yamuna

CM said, ‘Around 200 drains including Najafgarh and Shahdara Nalla fall into Yamuna. Somewhere dirt filled silt, garbage debris fell into Yamuna ji. That government never worked. We first decided to trap drains to improve the level of BOD (biochemical oxygen demand). There were 38 STP plants when found. Of them, 22 DPCC guidelines did not go on their standard, they did not walk.

Drains tapping planned

CM Rekha Gupta said, ‘About 3800 MLD silt comes out of the drains every day. The process is not even a thousand twelve hundred. The whole goes into the river. Today, the government first planned to tapping all those drains. Worked to updated and upgraded the old STPs on them. Then the new decentralized STP. Because until you improve the drains, its water will not be clear. ‘

Talk to Haryana

He further said, ‘Today there are so many industrial areas in Delhi, there is no tapping on the filth emanating from them. There is so much chemical found in STP that if it falls into the river, then foam is formed. We are working to tap them all. Today we have talked to Haryana to tap the factory flower from Haryana.

Budget of 9000 crores for cleaning Yamuna

In the program of AAP’s court, CM Rekha Gupta said, ‘We have kept a budget of 9000 crores this year by making a full action plan to clean a liter of water in Yamuna ji. Constant step by step we are moving forward. This work cannot be completed in a day. In it, the experts that were to be involved, the technology that should have been taken, we did all the work during these four months.

Sewer line being constructed in an unnamed colony

CM said that 1700 colonies of Delhi which are unnatural, did not have a sewer line, but started the work of laying sewer lines in them all. We are working closely with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to increase the flow of Yamuna by removing the debris lying in the Yamuna.
