Vian Mulder made history on captaincy debut, became the third captain to do so in 136 years for SA
Zimbabwe vs South Africa 2nd Test: South Africa captain and all -rounder Vian Mulder on Sunday (July 6) batting against Zimbabwe on the first day of the second and last Test match at the Queens Sports Club of Bulaveo against Zimbabwe. With this innings, he took a special record.
For Mulder South Africa, as a captain, a captain has become the third player to score a century in his first Test match. In the 136 -year Test history of South Africa, only two players did this feat before him. In 1913, Herbi Taylor (109 not out) against England and Jackie McGlue (104 not out) in 1955 won the position against England.
Please tell that due to the injury of Keshav Maharaj, the Mulder was given the responsibility of captaincy in this match for this match. Mulder’s performance in the current series has been excellent, he scored a brilliant 147 runs in the second innings of the first Test match here.
South Africa’s start was poor after receiving the first batting in this match and the two openers returned to the pavilion for a total score of 24 runs.
