Vani Kapoor, who is going to make OTT debut from Mandla Murdors, Boli- Actress gets better roles on streaming
The much-awaited and genre-limit of Netflix and YRF Entertainment ‘Mandla Murders’ is releasing on 25 July. This series is not only a mysterious, mythological-crime thriller, but also the first step on OTT for actress Vani Kapoor.
Vani Kapoor, who has shown her ability on the big screen till now, is excited to play a difficult and challenging role this time. Regarding this character, he said: I was looking for something very special and challenging so that I would be memorable on OTT, and it is a good fortune for me to get a platform like Mandla Murds.
He said, I am becoming a part of a story that will physically and mentally ask me a new avatar. This is a style in which I did not step before. This fearless decision is introducing me to new layers of depth, struggle and sensitivity – and these elements are important for telling excellent story.
The series writer and director and director Gopi Putiran, who is credited with the ‘Mardaani’ franchise, has promised to take the audience to a complex speculation, where every clue opens the depth of an ancient prediction. With this, the acting of prominent artists like Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Surveen Chawla and Shriya Pilgaonkar gives more weight to this plot.
Vani insisted on better opportunities for women in streaming platforms and said: I love streaming because here actresses’ Meetier – Majboots and Challenging – are able to achieve that in theatercied films, because they are mostly around male artists.
She also said on the changing picture of the industry: A new wave actresses are playing masculinity and depth-filled character, showing that soft feelings and underlying strengths can flourish on the screen simultaneously. Indian actresses are now playing a role led by action-thriller without any restriction, and this is a very important change.
‘Mandla Murdars’ is the second project of the creative partnership of Netflix and YRF – first was The Railway Man, displayed in 2023. The series is co-directed by Manan Rawat and is produced by YRF Entertainment.
