Brics Summit 2025: The manifesto of the 17th BRICS conference has demanded India and Brazil to be made permanent members in the UN Security Committee. BRICS leaders have strongly demanded that two countries of Global South India and Brazil be members of the Global South to make the UN Security Council more democratic and effective in this shared manifesto. Leaders of BRICS countries have reiterated their support for widespread reforms of the United Nations, including the Security Council, to make it more democratic, representative, effective and efficient.
What was said in the manifesto?
The manifesto stated, “We repeat their support for extensive improvement of the United Nations, including its security council, to make it more democratic, representative, effective and efficient, and increase the representation of developing countries in the council membership, so that it can adequately respond to the current global challenges and support Africa, Asia and Latin America, including BRICS countries, including BRICS countries, including BRICS countries and support the growing aspirations of Africa, Asia and Latinian Saw, so that they can play more role in international affairs, especially in the United Nations, which includes its security council.
Pahalgam terrorist attack condemns
The BRICS group has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The BRICS manifesto says, “We urge” we ‘to ensure the policy of “‘ not tolerating terrorism ‘and dismiss double standards in combating terrorism.” It states, “We stated on the primary responsibility of countries to combat terrorism and that they should fulfill our responsibilities under international laws to stop and combat terrorism threats.”
Concern also raised about unilateral fee
BRICS group leaders also expressed serious concern about unilateral fees and increase in non-fee measures, which was indirectly seen as a reference to the US policy on fee. BRICS also expressed concern over the ongoing struggles in many parts of the world and the current status of “polarization and fragmentation” in the international system. It said, “We repeat our serious concern about the situation in the occupied Palestinian region.”

Let us know that there are a total of 11 countries in BRICS which include Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Iran. Also, Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda and Uzbekistan are partners of the BRICS. This year Vietnam has also been included in the BRICS as partner country.
