Prithvi Shaw Joins Maharashtra Cricket Association: Youth opener Prithvi Shaw, who is out of the Indian cricket team, has taken a big and important step to bring his career back on track. After being unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, Prithvi will now be seen playing for the Maharashtra cricket team from the next domestic season.
Recently, after receiving the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), Prithvi has registered its name in the Maharashtra team. Now he will land on the field under the captaincy of Rituraj Gaikwad. Let us know that before playing international cricket for India, Prithvi has played all its cricket for Mumbai.
Hope to give a new direction to career
On this new change, Prithvi Shaw issued a statement saying, “At this significant turn of his career, I firmly believe that joining the Maharashtra team will help me get better as a cricketer. I am heartily grateful to the Mumbai Cricket Association for the opportunities and support given by him for so many years.”

After joining the Maharashtra team, Prithvi Shaw will now start the innings with Rituraj Gaikwad. This is an interesting equation, as both batsmen are currently trying to strengthen their claim for the opening batsman’s place in Team India. While Rituraj is in the race to return to all three formats, Prithvi does not appear to be involved in the current plans of the Indian team.
Prithvi Shaw’s domestic season fluctuates
The domestic season of 2024/25 was disappointing for Earth. He was excluded from Mumbai’s Ranji team, then returned to Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy but was rejoined from Vijay Hazare Trophy. No buyer was found even in the IPL 2025 auction. Now Earth will be eyeing the Ranji Trophy starting in October. From this, he would like to return to form and dream of returning to the Indian team again.
