In Bollywood, Sanjeev Kumar is remembered as an actor who made a special identity in the hearts of the audience with his strong acting. Born on 9 July 1938 in Mumbai on 9 July 1938, Sanjeev Kumar, born in a middle class Gujarati family, dreamed of becoming a hero in films since childhood. To fulfill this dream, he enrolled in the acting school of the film.
In 1962, he gave a screen test for Rajshri Production’s film ‘Aarti’, in which he could not pass. Sanjeev Kumar first got the opportunity to work in the 1965 film ‘Nishan’ as the lead actor. From 1960 to 1968, Sanjeev Kumar struggled to make his place in the film industry. Whatever role he got after the film ‘Hum Hindustani’, he went on to accept it.
Meanwhile, he acted in many B grade films like Smuggler husband-wife, Husn and Ishq, Badal, Naunihal and Gunahgar but none of these films succeeded at the box office. In 1968, Sanjeev Kumar appeared in the role of a police officer in the film Shikar, released in 1968. The film was fully focused on actor Dharmendra, yet Sanjeev was successful in leaving the impression of his acting. He also received the Filmfare Award for Supporting Actor for his strong performance in this film.

After the tremendous success of the film toy released in 1970, Sanjeev Kumar made his own identity as a hero. He was awarded the National Award for Best Actor for his amazing acting in the film Dastak, released in the year 1970. The new dimension of his performance in the film ‘Prayan’ released in 1972 was seen by the audience. Playing the role of dumb in this film was a big challenge for any actor.
Without speaking the dialogue, it was an example of Sanjeev Kumar’s acting talent to tell the audience with just eyes and facial expressions, which hardly any actor could repeat. He was awarded the National Award for Best Actor for the second time for his amazing performance in this film.
Sanjeev Kumar introduced himself in various roles to avoid uniformity in acting and also establish himself as a character actor. In this sequence, he did not even hesitate to play the role of film actress Jaya Bhadudi’s father -in -law in Ramesh Sippy’s superhit film Sholay released in 1975. However, Sanjeev Kumar played the role of hero in the film Sholay’s first Jaya Bhaduri and Anamika.
Sanjeev Kumar has been awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Actor twice. This Azim artist, who made a special identity in the audience with his strong acting, said goodbye to this world on 6 November 1985.
