Seeing so much request of Parvatiji, Lord Shiva said- ‘On your request, I give this businessman a boon to get a son, but his son will not live more than 16 years.’ The same night, Lord Shiva gave a darshan to that businessman in his dream and gave him a boon of getting a son and also told his son to survive for 16 years. The businessman was happy with the boon of God, but the worry of the son’s young age destroyed that happiness. The traders continued to fasting on Monday as before. A few months later, a very beautiful son was born to his house. The son was filled with happiness in the businessman’s house from birth. The ceremony of son-birth was celebrated with great pomp.
The businessman did not have much pleasure of son-birth, because he knew the mystery of the son’s young age. Nobody knew this secret in the house. The scholar Brahmins named the son ‘Amar’. When Amar was 12 years old, it was decided to send him to Varanasi for education. The businessman called Amar’s maternal uncle Deepchand and said that Amar should leave Varanasi to get education. Amar walked to get education with his maternal uncle. On the way, wherever Amar and Deepchand stayed for night rest, they used to perform Yajna and offer food to Brahmins.
After a long journey, Amar and Deepchand reached a city. The entire city was decorated in the joy of the marriage of the girl of the king of that city. The procession arrived at a certain time, but the father of the groom was very worried because his son was with one eye. He was afraid that the king should not refuse marriage when he came to know about this. This will bring his infamy.
When the father of the groom saw Amar, an idea came in his brain. He thought, why not make this boy a groom and get married to the princess? After marriage, I will give it away by giving it money and take the princess to my city. The father of the groom spoke to Amar and Deepchand in this regard. Deepchand accepted the groom’s father in the greed to get money.
Amar was married to Princess Chandrika wearing a groom’s clothes. The king sent a lot of money to the princess. When Amar was returning, he could not hide the truth and he wrote on the princess’s coverage- ‘Princess Chandrika, you were married to me, I am going to get education in Varanasi. Now you have to be the wife of the young man, she is Kana. ‘ When the princess read written on her cord, she refused to go with the boy.
The king kept the princess in the palace after knowing all the things. Meanwhile, Amar reached Varanasi with his maternal uncle Deepchand. Amar started studying in Gurukul. When Amar’s age was completed 16 years, he performed a yajna. At the end of the yajna, he provided food to the Brahmins and donated a lot of food and clothes. At night Amar slept in his bedroom. According to the boon of Shiva, Amar’s soul-cakes flew away. Seeing Mama Amar dead at sunrise, he started crying. People around also gathered and started expressing grief.
Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati also heard the voice of the maternal uncle’s cry, mourning. Parvatiji said to God- ‘Prannath! I am not tolerating the sound of its crying. You must remove the sufferings of this person. Lord Shiva went close to Amar in an invisible form with Parvatiji and said to Parvatiji- ‘Parvati! This is the son of the same businessman. I gave it a boon of 16 years of age. Its age is complete.
Parvatiji again requested Lord Shiva- ‘O Prannath! You make this boy alive, otherwise his parents will cry and give up their lives due to the death of the son. The father of this boy is your ultimate devotee. For years, fast on Monday is offering you. On the insistence of Parvatiji, Lord Shiva gave the boon to the boy to be alive and in a few moments he got up alive.
After finishing education, he walked towards his city with Amar Mama. Both reached the same city where Amar was married. Amar also organized a yagna in that city. While passing by, the king of the city saw the yagna. The king immediately recognized Amar. At the end of the yajna, King took Amar and his maternal uncle to the palace and after keeping them in the palace and gave them a lot of money and weapons and sent them off with the princess.
The king also sent many soldiers along for safety on the way. Deepchand sent a messenger home as soon as he reached the city and sent information about his arrival. The businessman was very pleased with his son Amar returning to the survivor. The businessman kept himself locked in a room with his wife. Staying hungry and thirsty, the businessman and his wife were waiting for the son. He had vowed that if he received the news of his son’s death, both would give up their lives.
On receiving the news, the businessman reached the city gate with his wife and friends. Hearing the news of his son’s marriage, his daughter -in -law was not a place of happiness after seeing Rajkumari Chandrika. The same night Lord Shiva came to the businessman’s dream and said- ‘Oh superior! I have given a long life to your son by being pleased with your Monday fast and listening to the fast. Businessman was very happy. Due to Monday’s fast, happiness returned to the businessman’s house. It is written in the scriptures that women and men who duly fast on Monday and listen to the fast story, they get happiness, prosperity and longevity in life.
