ED tightened the screws on 29 celebs, accused of promoting betting apps
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has tightened screws against several celebs. The ED has filed an enforcement case information report against Telangana’s 29 celebs, YouTubers and Social Media Influencers for promoting betting apps. This move of ED has caused a stir in the South Industry.
The celebs against whom the ED has registered a case against the stars like Vijay Devarakonda, Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Manchu Lakshmi, Nidhi Aggarwal and Shyamala. This action has been taken on the basis of an FIR lodged by Sibrabad Police.
According to the FIR report, the connection of these stars is being told by the alleged betting application scam. The ED is currently investigating financial transactions and digital trails from all these.
It is being told that the matter was discovered when a 32 -year -old businessman from Miyapur, Fanindra Sharma, filed a complaint in which he said that many common people and youth are investing money in these betting apps, which are promoted by famous film stars. These apps are financially in trouble the families of Middle and Lower Middle Family.
Celebs clarified
While defending in this case, Vijay Devarakonda said that he had only promoted skill-based gaming platform A23, which has ended in 2023. At the same time, Prakash Raj said that he had promoted an app in 2016, but later considered it wrong and distanced it away from it.
Rana Daggubati also issued a statement through the legal team, saying that his association with the skill -based gaming app ended in 2017 itself. All advertisements were limited to areas where such platforms were allowed by law and were legalized legal investigation.
