He has said that Canada will continue to protect the people and business of his country. He said that during the current trade talks with the US, the Canadian government has continuously protected its workers and businesses. We will continue to do so, as we are moving towards the revised time of August 1.

Trump’s charge
US President Donald Trump on Thursday announced that 35% tariffs on imported goods from Canada would be applicable from 1 August. He informed Prime Minister Carney with this decision through a letter. It is one of such letters sent to more than 20 countries issued by Trump this week. Trump said in his statement that Canada’s trade policies as well as there are serious threats to the US economy and security in the US.
