MIT did amazing, made a device that will automatically control blood sugar level
Blood Sugar Control Device Impament
MIT engineers have made amazing devices, which will work as an emergency medicine in your body, as well as hypoglassimia located. The size of this small device is extremely low, which can be implanted in the skin. When the sugar level is low in the body, this device releases a dose of glucagon, which increases the blood sugar level. This device can be activated manually. Also, it can be operated via wireless sensors.
Mennet will level glucose in the body
Explain Hypoglassimia or low blood sugar is a serious disease, which is found in patients with type 1 diabetes. When the level of glucose in the body starts decreasing rapidly, glucagon engagement is given, so that the liver can get the signal to release the stored sugar in the blood. But many times this happens when people do not know when to take glucagon. Many such cases have been seen in which children do not feel less at night or children do not feel less sugar level. This implant device reacts automatically and sends glucagon to the body at such a time.
How to work?
Daniel Anderson, Professor of Mit’s Chemical Engineering, said that it is a small emergency-event device, which can be imposed inside the skin, where it is ready to work when it falls in the body of patients. He further stated that our goal is that this device should always be ready to protect patients from low blood sugar. The work of this device is for patients who do not understand the warnings received from the body or cannot take the dose of glucagon by themselves. This device has a backup dose when there is hypoglassimia while sleeping.
Researchers at MIT say that this device has been prepared through a 3D printed polymer, in which a small drug packet lives in the reserve. It is sealed with shape memory alloy, which responds to heat. It is made of metal components of nickel-titanium and melts when it arrives at 40 ° C temperature. By melting the metal component, the medicine kept in it is released in the body and reaches the glucagon in the body.
Manual will also be able to operate manually
This implant can also be operated manually. It has a small antenna set on a specific radio frequency, so that it can be activated through wireless from outside too. A small electric current reaches it, which can melt the metal seal and release the medicine. It contains glucagon powder, which can be used for a long time.
This small device was tested, where the patient’s body’s blood sugar level is reduced only after 10 minutes. The medicine reaches the body only after just 10 minutes of activation and increases the heart rate. Currently, this device was used for four weeks during the trial. MIT is testing it for longer.
