A surprising case has come to light from Shivamoga Central Jail. Here a prisoner swallowed a mobile phone, which has been removed from his stomach after surgery. According to the information, the accused is serving a sentence in the case of hemp smuggling in Shivamoga Central Jail. He swallowed a mobile phone for fear of being caught recently. A few days ago, he complained of stomach ache and said that he had accidentally swallowed a piece of stone. However, after going to the hospital, it was found to have a mobile in the stomach. Here the doctors took out the phone three inches long and one inch wide phone from her stomach.

Prisoner complained of stomach ache

In fact, a criminal case has been registered against the prisoner under the relevant sections of the Indian Code. 30 -year -old Daulat alias Gundu, convicted, is serving a 10 -year sentence. In Shivamoga Central Jail, the prisoner, who was serving a sentence in the case of hemp smuggling, swallowed the phone to the mobile for fear of being caught. On the other hand, 30 -year -old prisoner Daulat alias Gundu complained to the jail staff on 24 June. He told that a piece of stone was accidentally swallowed. He was then taken to Macgan Hospital.

Mobile removed after surgery

During the investigation, doctors showed an object in his stomach and immediate surgery was recommended. During the surgery, doctors received a mobile phone from her stomach, which was one inch and three inches in length. After successfully removing the phone, doctors handed it over to the jail administration. This action was completed on 8 July. At the same time, Chief Superintendent of Jail P. Ranganath lodged a complaint against Daulat at Tunga Nagar Police Station. A case has been registered against the accused for bringing a banned item in the jail premises. Significantly, in June 2024, the Shivamoga district court convicted Daulat in a drug smuggling case and sentenced him to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment.
