The domestic stock market closed flat on Tuesday. The BSE Sensex climbed 70.01 points to close at 80,288.38 points and NSE Nifty closed at 24,335.95 points with a margin of 7.45 points. The midcap and smallcap segment also saw a slight increase. The BSE Midcap index saw an increase of 0.23 percent, while the Smallcap index saw a slight increase of 0.09 percent. The domestic major equity indices closed the session on a flat note. IT, consumer durables and oil and gas stocks helped indices.
The highest profit stocks
According to PTI news, Reliance Industries, Tech Mahindra, Eater, Infosys, IndusInd Bank, Tata Consultancy Services and Bajaj Finserv were the highest among the Sensex companies. In contrast, UltraTech Cement, Sun Pharma, Power Grid, NTPC, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra lagged behind.

Vinod Nair, Head of Research of Geojit Investments Limited, said that the market was largely fluctuated due to vigilance between geopolitical concerns over border tension. Continuous investment from FII supported market notion and limited further disappointment. Meanwhile, the results of the mixed fourth quarter have increased the risk of decline in estimates of FY 2026.
