Etihad airways order pilots on fuel switches: Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi, has issued a directive to its pilots to ‘take care’ while operating fuel control switch on Boeing 787 aircraft, as well as ordered inspection of their locking mechanisms. These instructions have been released after the preliminary investigation report of Air India Plain Crash in Ahmedabad on 12 June. South Korea is going to take precautionary steps

According to media reports, South Korea is also going to take precautionary measures. South Korea is preparing to order all its airlines operating fuel control switch to the Boeing aircraft. The order given by Etihad Airways to the pilots and a similar step plan for its airlines by South Korea came after a notification by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Boeing. The FAA and Boeing notification states that fuel control switches of its aircraft, including 787, were not unsafe.

Etihad Airways released bulletin

According to media reports, a bulletin was released by Etihad Airways on July 12, the day the investigation report of the Air India aircraft accident was released. The pilots in the bulletin were asked to “take care of fuel control or take precautions while operating any other switch/control around them”. The airline said that the step was being taken as “extreme caution”.

On June 12, Boeing 787 aircraft of Air India crashed in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. A total of 260 people were killed in this accident. Of the 242 people aboard the aircraft, only one person was survived. The preliminary report released by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau of Investigation (AAIB) made several important revelations. The report reported the accident due to the accident to be ‘cut off’ of the fuel of engines.

A 15 -page report of Aaib has revealed that both the engines of the aircraft suddenly stopped automatically after a few seconds of the takeoff, causing the aircraft to crash. The fuel ‘cutoff’ switch of Engine-1 and Engine-2 (which send fuels to the engine) went to ‘cutoff’ from ‘run’ from ‘run’. The speed of the N-1 and N-2 of both the fuel closure was reduced rapidly.
