Patna. A sensational incident took place in broad daylight on Thursday at Paras Hospital, a well -known private hospital in the capital Patna, which exposed the dreaded gang -wise reality in Bihar. Many armed criminals entered the hospital and fired indiscriminately on Chandan Mishra, causing chaos in the hospital premises.

The seriously injured Chandan Mishra has been identified as a resident of Buxar district and an accused in more than a dozen murder cases. He was currently out of jail on parole and was admitted for treatment in Patna. Patna SSP Karthikeya Sharma has described this attack as the result of a possible gang war.

The main accused was in the murder case of Buxar’s famous lime businessman

Chandan Mishra’s name is also associated with the famous lime businessman Rajendra Kesari murder case in Buxar. The case is on 21 August 2011, when the businessman refused to pay extortion. He was then murdered with bullets. Chandan Mishra and notorious criminal Sheru Singh were made the main accused in this case.

Both the accused were later arrested from West Bengal. After the arrest, when Sheru was produced in the court, he shot and killed a policeman in the court premises and escaped. However, he was later arrested by the Ara police again.
Sheru was sentenced to death by the court, but the High Court stayed it. At the same time, Chandan Mishra was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Name also came in the murder of jail worker, acquitted due to lack of evidence

Chandan Mishra’s name was also revealed in the murder of jail worker Hyder Imam Versi in Dhobighat area on May 4, 2011 itself. Chandan Mishra’s name came with Sheru Singh in this murder.
According to the jailer’s statement, both of them threatened over the phone, but both were acquitted in the case due to lack of adequate evidence in the court. Despite this, Chandan Mishra remained in jail in other cases.

Sheru-Chandan gang: fear spread from Buxar to Bhagalpur

Between 2009 and 2012, the gang of Sheru and Chandan Mishra carried out more than one and a half dozen criminal incidents. The impact of the gang did not end even after his arrest.
Both criminals were removed from Buxar Central Jail in 2015 and shifted to Bhagalpur Jail. The objective of the administration was that these criminals could not affect by intimidating or threatening voters during the assembly elections. Therefore, the jail transfer was not stopped even after their sentence ended.

Gangs continued to run even while in jail, name emerged in many incidents of murder

Chandan Mishra also kept his criminal network active from inside the jail. His name also emerged prominently in the 2015 Islam Mian murder case in Buxar. The accused arrested in this murder revealed that they were associated with Chandan Mishra’s gang and carried out the crime on his instructions.

Giving information to the press, the then SP of Buxar, Upendra Sharma had said that the gang used to work on the behest of Chandan Mishra. Chandan was identified as a gangleider among the criminals.

Came out on parole and became a victim of gang war

Recently Chandan Mishra was released on parole for medical reasons. He was admitted to Paras Hospital in Patna for treatment. But as soon as the attackers entered the hospital on Thursday, they targeted him and started firing.
Patna Police is considering it as part of the gang war. The investigation team is trying to find out which gang was behind the attack and where it was planned.

According to SSP Karthikeya Sharma,

“Prima facie the case seems to be of mutual gang struggle. A team has been formed to identify and arrest the attackers. The whole truth will be revealed soon.”
