Is it right to worship fragmented Shivling?
Is broken shivling allowed in Worship: According to some beliefs, worshiping the fragmented Shivling is considered right. Why is the worship of fragmented Shivling right? The main reasons and beliefs behind this are as follows-
1. formless form: Lord Shiva is considered as ‘Nakal’ i.e. formless Brahma. They have no beginning or end, nor any definite shape. Shivalinga is a symbol of this formless form of Lord Shiva. Since the formless can not be denied, its sanctity and worshipability remains even if the Shivling is broken physically.
2. Akhand and infinite: According to the scriptures, no matter how fragmented the Shivling becomes, it is always holy and revered. In many ancient temples, such Shivling are also found, which have been decorated or partially fragmented over time, yet they are worshiped with full reverence.
3. Brahmarupa: Lord Shiva is called Brahmarupa. They are considered to be the root cause of the whole world, so worshiping them as Shivalinga worshiped the entire universe. His form is beyond the division.

On the other hand, if we see mention of Manusmriti and Puranas, according to the Puranas and theology, the worship of any fragmented or broken idol or Shivling is considered prohibited. In texts like Manusmriti, Garuda Purana and Agni Purana, it is said that the fragmented idol becomes impure and worshiping it causes blame.

S Narakam Gachchati Sure Natra Doubt: ‘
That is, a person who worships a fragmented Shivling or idol, he definitely becomes a part of sin.
In short, if the Shivling is fragmented in your house or a temple, then you should not hesitate to worship it. His sanctity remains and he remains revered. There is a rule to immerse it when the idol of other deities is fragmented, but Shivling is an exception to this rule.
On the other hand, if the Shivling is fragmented in your house or temple, then consult a worthy Pandit and in this special situation it is considered auspicious to establish a new Shivling with proper law.
According to traditional belief in this regard, if the Shivling is fragmented at some place, a new Shivling is worshiped and the fragmented Shivling can be flowed in the reservoir, river or pond or a place is given a place by giving place inside a temple.
