New Delhi: India Foreign Minister S.K. Jaishankar has clearly stated his Chinese counterpart Wang Ji that there is no place for the interference of a third country (Pakistan) or its interests in the relations between India and China. According to a report by Hindustan Times, Jaishankar said this in a meeting with Wang Ji on 14 July, where he discussed the direction of the relationship between the two countries after China’s infiltration on LAC in East Ladakh in 2020. Jaishankar expressed happiness in the meeting that after the agreement reached in October 2024, the Indian Army has again started patrolling in Deppasang and Demchok areas.
‘Stable boundary is the foundation of India-China relations’
During the meeting with Yi, Jaishankar said that the stable boundary is the foundation of India-China relations. The Foreign Minister also suggested that now the armies of the two countries should focus on reducing tension, as 5 years have passed for the 2020 flock clash and infiltration on LAC. Let us know that still about 50,000 soldiers, tanks and heavy weapons are deployed on both sides. Jaishankar also told Wang Yi that China should ensure a trusted supply chain for India and should not impose export restrictions on essential goods. Recently, China prohibited exports on magnets and potassium-nitrogen fertilizers used in the auto industry, which has affected India.
Jaishankar took a tough stand on terrorism
During the meeting, Jaishankar made it clear that India-China relations should not roam around a third country. This statement is important because China supplies 81% military weapons to Pakistan. These weapons, including missiles and aircraft, were recently used extensively in Operation Sindoor in Pakistan. On July 13, Jaishankar took a tough stand on terrorism at a meeting of SCO Foreign Ministers. He said that the aim of SCO is to fight terrorism, separatism and extremism.
Jaishankar and Wang met in a good environment
Jayashankar, referring to the Pahalgam terror attack, said that India’s Action on terrorist bases in Pakistan was in accordance with the UN Security Council proposal 16050. The proposal was approved by all countries including Pakistan, China and Russia. This proposal calls terrorism the biggest threat to global peace and asks to punish those responsible for terror. The meeting of Jaishankar and Wang Yi was cordial. The two leaders agreed to work towards improving India-China relations.
