Karun Nair: England tour for Karun Nair was no less than a bad dream. The batsman, who returned to Team India’s playing 11 after 8 years, got a golden opportunity to prove himself, but he failed to capitalize on it.

On the other hand, the 23 -year -old player impressed in the same match is now standing on the threshold of taking his place. After years of hard work, the opportunity was now seen slipping from Nair’s hands.

Karun Nair got a chance to return to the Test playing XI for the England Tour after eight years, but he has become a curse for him. He made a good start in six innings several times, but failed to turn into a big innings.

Karun Nair, especially length balls and bounce, harassed it again and again. In the second innings of the Lord’s Test, his wicket falling on the involved ball of Bridan cars exposes technical weakness.

India expected stability at number three from Nair, who scored runs in domestic cricket. But he could not live up to that trust. In such a situation, when India is behind 1-2 and the fourth Test of the series is a week away, is the big question-will Nair be given another chance?

23 -year -old player turned water on 7 years of hard work

23 -year -old left -handed batsman Sai Sudarshan made his debut in the Leeds Test and appeared comfortable in the last innings. He was only out of the second Test due to team combination, not due to poor performance.

Now 23 -year -old Sudarshan is ready to divert 7 years of hard work of Karun Nair. After Karun failed, now when India needs batting stability, Sudarshan’s demand for return has intensified.

Deep Dasgupta said now give a chance to Sudarshan

Deep Dasgupta described Nair’s game as “comfortable in pieces” and said that the stability and confidence in a third -ranked batsman should not be seen in Nair. He said, “It is not just a matter of opportunity.”

He said, “Karun has got opportunities, now not the opportunity but how you are seen at the crease. I think Karun has got enough opportunities so far, and now Sudarshan should be given time.”
