ED screws on Google and Meta, accused of promoting online batting apps

Google and Meta have difficulties in India. Both tech companies have been accused of promoting batting apps. Both these companies are currently under the script of ED. The Enforcement Directorate sends notice to these two companies. They have been accused of giving prominence to advertisements and websites of online batting app. Representatives of these two companies have been called by ED on July 21 for questioning.
Accused of promoting illegal batting apps
The Central Investigation Agency has invited representatives of Google and Meta for questioning for serious financial offenses such as money laundering and hawala business through online batting apps. ED officials say that both these companies have promoted the promotion of illegal batting apps on their platforms. Google and Meta are accused that due to these, the batting apps have reached more and more users.
29 Celebrities and influencers filed lawsuit
Last week, ED has filed a lawsuit on 29 people for promotion of batting apps, including actors of TV and films, social media influencing and celebrities. ECIR also features big artists of South such as Prakash Raj, Rana Daggubati and Vijay Devarakonda. These celebrities are accused of promoting large batting apps.
Earlier, ED had taken major action regarding Mahadev Batting Apps Scam. Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was also accused in the case of Rs 6000 crore through the batting apps. The former CM is accused of taking Rs 500 crore from the promoters of the app. Apart from this, ED also took action in the case with Fairplay IPL batting apps. On July 21, ED will interrogate the representatives of Meta and Gaol. After this, further action will be determined.
