A heartbreaking news has come out from Muzaffarpur district. In Ratanpur village of Bariyarpur police station area, a mother and her nine -year -old son died tragically from electric current. The accident happened when the innocent child was hit by a current while trying to burn the bulb in the house. Hearing the screams of her son, the mother ran to save her, but she too came in the stream of lightning and lost the battle of life.

Painful process of incident

According to local people, the accident is late Wednesday evening. Milan Rai’s wife Pinki Devi (age 30) and her son Hansraj Kumar (age 9) were in a room in the house. Hansraj tried to burn the bulb in the room, but suddenly he got electrocuted due to some disturbances in the wiring. As soon as he shouted loudly, mother Pinki Devi panicked and ran into the room and started to rescue the son.

Unfortunately, the current was flowing in the iron frame in the room, and as soon as Pinki Devi tried to get her son tried, she also got hit by the current. Both of them died in a few moments. The whole village was stunned by this heartbreaking accident and every eye became moist.

Mourning in the village, the bad condition of family members

As soon as the news of the incident spread, a large number of villagers gathered at the scene. People were unable to believe that trying to burn a small bulb would take two lives. The people of the village say that this family lived a very simple life and there was no enmity or dispute with anyone.

Other family members are in a weeping condition. Tears and faces can be seen clearly in the eyes of relatives and villagers. Every person in the village is saddened by the death of the child, while this sacrifice done in the mother’s mother is shaking everyone.

Police took stock of the spot, bodies sent for postmortem

On receiving the information of the incident, SHO Chandni Kumari of Bariyarpur police station reached the spot with Sanwaria police team. The police admitted both to the local hospital, where doctors declared them dead. After this, both the bodies were sent to Muzaffarpur Medical College for postmortem.

The SHO said that in the preliminary investigation, it seems to be an accidental incident. Nevertheless, a thorough investigation is being done how the electric current spread in the room and whether it was the result of negligence.

Need to be aware of electricity safety

This incident once again reminds how important the investigation of electrical equipment and wiring is from time to time. Minor negligence can also prove to be fatal. Children need to be kept away from power equipment, and elders should ensure that the wiring of the house is safe.
