• Special intensive review of voter lists in Bihar is in full swing. The purpose of this important campaign is to make the voter lists of the state completely updated and accurate, but at the moment this goal has not been fully found. The last date for submission of voter calculation form is near and still about 5.2% of the voters have not filled their form.

  • There are a total of 7.89 crore registered voters in Bihar. Of these, more than 7.11 crore people have filled their calculations and handed over to the Election Commission so far. However, the remaining remaining more than 41 lakh voters have not yet completed this process.   • The Election Commission has started sending these lists to the district presidents and booth level agents of political parties. Its aim is not to be out of the voter list of any qualified voter. The commission has reiterated that every eligible citizen will get full right to vote and no one will be deliberately removed from the list.

  • The SIR started on 24 June and the review of the process is to be completed by 25 July. In such a situation, now the remaining voters will have to fill their name and details by filling the form at the earliest.
  • Digitalization boom, 86.69% work completed
  • Out of the 7.11 crore form received so far, digitization of 6.85 crore, or 86.69% forms, has been completed. This means that the information of voters is now being recorded in electronic form, so that transparency and ease will remain in the coming elections.
  • Cases of change and death also came up
  • During the intensive review, the Commission has also put up some important figures:
  • 36.86 lakhs Voters were found who were not present at their address (4.67%).
  • 12.71 Lakh The possible death of voters has been confirmed (1.61%).
  • 18.16 Lakh Voters have permanently changed their housing (2.3%).
  • 5.92 lakhs Voters are those whose names are recorded in more than one place (0.75%).
  • Commission’s appeal: Complete the process as soon as possible
  • The Election Commission has appealed to all the remaining voters to fill their calculation form within the stipulated time and improve it if there is any mistake. This is not only a matter of electoral participation, but a proof of participation in democracy.
  • The review of the voter list in Bihar has reached the final phase. Crores of people have participated in it, but for some percentage people still behind, it is very important to fill the form before July 25. The purpose of this campaign of the Commission is to prepare a fair and updated voter list, so that no qualified citizen is deprived of the right to vote.
