Sao Paulo: The threat of US President Donald Trump has increased the popularity of Brazilian President Lula de Silva. On the other hand, the difficulties of former President Bolsanaro have increased. Now you must be wondering how it can happen. But this is true. In fact, the President has threatened to increase the tariff on Brazil. His statement has put former Brazilian President Zer Bolsanaro in politically and difficult, while current President Luiz Eneasio Lula de Silva has got an unexpected political lead.

What is the whole matter?

Let us tell you that Trump wrote a letter to Brazilian President Lula last week warning to impose 50% import tax and linked it to the ongoing trial of Bolsonaro, which he called “political vengeance”. Trump also sent a separate letter to Bolsonaro, demanding to eliminate the trial immediately. But Trump’s strategy turned back. The Supreme Court of Brazil took a tough stand on this and intensified the action against Bolsonaro. On Friday, the police raided his house and political office. He was also ordered to wear electronic monitor. Not only this, the court also banned the use of social media of Bolsanaro. Apart from this, many other restrictions were imposed.

Lula gets political lead

While this statement of Trump increased the difficulties of former President Bolsanaro, on the other hand, his action gave Lula political life. While earlier his popularity was being seen to decline, now he has started getting support from the public and Parliament. According to private survey agency Atlas, Lula’s acceptance rating has increased from 47.3% to 49.7% in June after Trump’s statement. 62.2% of Brazilian citizens involved in the survey have described American tariff as unfair.

Brazilian President attacked Trump

Brazilian President Lula on Thursday gave a strict warning to the US and said in a student meeting, “No foreigner will order this President.” He described Trump’s tariff threat as “unacceptable blackmail”. Brazil’s largest economic zone Agbines, who was traditionally a supporter of right -wing ideology, also severely criticized Trump’s action. Industry organizations described it as politically motivated and devoid of business logic. Even former Vice President of Bolsonaro Hamilton Morao described Trump’s interference as a violation of the sovereignty of Brazil.

Case continues in Supreme Court

Bolsonaro is undergoing serious allegations such as conspiring to end democracy in the Supreme Court, leading criminal organization and trying to attach a coup. The court has also initiated an investigation into the role of his son Eduardo Bolsonaro, who lives in the US and is considered close to Trump. Judge Alexandre De Moras said, “Brazil is a sovereign country and our judiciary will not accept any foreign pressure.” Bolsonaro called it his “Supreme insult”, while his son Eduardo accused the court of trying to convince Trump and America.
