Cheteshwar Pujara Picks India England Test XI: Cheteshwar Pujara chose his United India-England Test XI in which many veterans were excluded. This team does not include big names like Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, James Anderson and Alastair Cook. Pujara made Rahul Dravid and Alek Stewart an opening pair, while Joe Root, Virat Kohli and VVS Laxman placed in the middle order.

Former India batsman Cheteshwar Pujara is currently part of the broadcast team in England during the five-match Test series (where England is ahead 2–1) being played between India and England. Meanwhile, Pujara chose his United India-England Test XI (21st century) in ESPNcricinfo’s show The Draft and who caught everyone’s attention.

The biggest surprise in Pujara’s team was the absence of Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Also, England veteran Alastair Cook and James Anderson were also not given a place. Pujara chose Alex Stewart of England and Rahul Dravid of India for the opening. Stewart, who will also play the role of wicketkeeper, Stewart has scored 8,463 runs in 133 Tests, while Dravid scored 13,288 runs and 36 centuries in 164 Tests.

In the middle order, Pujara placed the route of England, Virat Kohli and VVS Laxman of India. Root (13,259 runs, 37 centuries) are also active players and have scored the highest 3,099 runs in India-England Test. Kohli (9,230 runs, 30 centuries) recently retired from Tests, while Laxman (8,781 runs, 17 centuries) got a place for his classic innings.

Among the all -rounders, Pujara selected India’s Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin along with England’s Ben Stokes and Andrew Flintoff. Ashwin (114 wickets against England, 24 matches) is the most successful bowler of this century for India. The fast bowling attack includes Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Former English Pesar Matthew Hoggard was chosen as the 12th player.
