Asia cup 2025: The controversy over the Asia Cup 2025 is not taking the name of stopping. India has made it clear that if the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting is held in Dhaka, it will not only boycott the meeting, but will not participate in the Asia Cup (Asia Cup 2025). The biggest concern in such a situation is what will happen to the tournament without India?

On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), taking shocking steps, has prepared a plan for 3 backup teams, which can help maintain the tournament in the event of being out of India.

The value of tournament without India will reduce

India is not only the largest cricket market of the Asia Cup (Asia Cup 2025), but also the most important team in terms of TV viewership, sponsorship and ability to fill stadium. Without them, the brand value and commercial success of the tournament will have a direct impact. This is the reason that PCB and Asian Cricket Council President Mohsin Naqvi also understand this well and they have prepared Plan B to deal with this challenge.

1. UAE (United Arab Emirates)

The UAE has been seen as a trusted partner in Asian cricket over the years. Even though the team is weak at the cricket level, PCB is seeing the UAE as an alternative to India due to the tournament organizing and politically neutral role.

2. Hong Kong

Hong Kong recently performed well in the Asia Cup (Asia Cup 2025) qualifier. In 2022, he also gained experience of playing against teams like India and Pakistan. If India is removed, the number of groups can be maintained by including Hong Kong.

3. Nepal

Nepal cricket is emerging fast these days. There is tremendous enthusiasm about cricket and the team is also showing competitive sports. PCB is considering to include Nepal as a promotional team, so that the message of expansion of cricket can also be given.
