But, recently, an actress had revealed that she also auditioned for the role of Mata Sita in Ranbir Kapoor starrer Ramayana and also received positive response from the makers. Srinidhi Shetty also auditioned for Ramayana
This actress is none other than Srinidhi Shetty, who has appeared in the ‘KGF’ franchise with Yash. Srinidhi had revealed in a conversation with Siddharth Kanan that the reason behind Nitesh Tiwari’s not doing Ramayana was an actor of the film. He told that he auditioned for Ramayana and did three scenes well. The producers were also affected by his screen test, but then he came to know that superstar Yash is also associated with the film and is playing the role of Ravana, so he decided not to do this film.

The reason behind Srinidhi’s doing so was his romantic pairing with Yash in ‘KGF’. According to the actress, KGF and KGF2 had already seen her tremendous chemistry with Yash. Their pair was a huge hit. In such a situation, he did not find it right to play the role of Sita in the Ramayana, because Yash is playing the role of Ravana in the film. According to Srinidhi, he felt that it would not be easy for the people to accept these changes so soon and she retreated.
Ramayana will be released in two parts
Along with this, Srinidhi also expressed his opinion when Sai Pallavi was taken in the role of Mother Sita in the Ramayana. She believes that Sai Pallavi is a great option for this character and she will definitely do justice to her character. Let me tell you, this most awaited film of Nitesh Tiwari is being made in two parts. The first part will be released on the occasion of Diwali 2026 and the second part Diwali 2027.
