A big revelation has come to light about Team India’s ODI captain Rohit Sharma. Former Indian selector Jatin Paranjpe said in a conversation with The Times of India that, “Rohit Sharma gave India a title victory while playing in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Rohit was upset with Hamstring Inzri, who was harassing him for the last 4-5 months, but despite this, he made India with a brilliant performance.”

Talking further, former Indian selector Jatin Paranjpe further said, “Rohit Sharma was struggling with Hamstring Inzri for the last four-five months. He did not rest much. I think he should have played a little more because he was in the best form. His trademark hook shot was always worth watching.”

Significantly, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, India won the title by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final of the Champions Trophy played in Dubai this year. Rohit has earlier won the team in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Prior to the captaincy, he won the title under the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy led by MS Dhoni.

However, Rohit retired from Test cricket in May 2025 and had already said goodbye to T20I. Now fans are waiting for his return to ODI cricket. But according to reports, the white-ball series proposed by Sri Lanka Cricket have been canceled. Earlier, the tour of Bangladesh was also postponed by September 2026, due to which Rohit’s return is delayed.

Rohit Sharma won five IPL trophy to Mumbai Indians along with giving two ICC titles to India as captain. Now it has to be seen when Hitman makes a comeback in ODI cricket.
