WCL: SA and Wi crossed the limits of thrill in the match, the match was decided by ball out
The World Championship of Legends 2025 on Saturday, 19 July in Edgbaston, Birmingham, between West Indies Champion and South Africa Champion, was quite exciting. At first this match was tied and later the winner was decided by the ball-out and seeing this view to the fans of 2007 T20 World Cup Remember where the first ball out between India and Pakistan was seen.
The match was delayed due to rain and eventually the game was reduced to only 11 overs. Batting first, the West Indies scored 79 runs thanks to Landal Simmons (28) and Chadwick Walton (27). South African spinner Aaron Fangiso took 2 wickets for 12 runs in his two -over spell.
In response, the protiaz got early shocks, Richard Levi and captain AB de Villiers were dismissed for just 8 in the first 13 balls. Sheldon Cotrail took two wickets. Despite losing the initial wickets, Sarell Ervy and JP Duminy re -raised South Africa’s expectations with aggressive batting. His retaliation raised hopes of chasing the target and Protiaz needed only two runs off the last three balls. However, he could not win and finished his innings on a score equal to the Windies.
The winner was then decided by ball out. Protiaz once again won the toss and decided to bowl first in the shootout. However, he missed in his first three attempts, in which Fangiso, Chris Morris and Wilzoen could not hit the balls. JJ Smats finally hit the stumps in the fourth attempt and after that Wayne Parnell threw a great yorker to two.
West Indies needed at least two hits to win, could not hit even one of their five occasions, leading to South Africa Champions 2–0 in the ball-out.
