Cocaine hidden in soap coaches

The team of Revenue Intelligence in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, has busted a large drug racket. Cocaine worth Rs 14.69 crore was seized in soap coaches here. Two women from Northeast India have been arrested with drugs near Cottonpet in Bengaluru. The accused women were smuggling seven kilograms of cocaine in soap coaches. The accused women have been identified as Laljamalwai of Manipur and Lalthangaliyani of Mizoram.

The DRI officials arrested both the accused women and seized the narcotics. Initial investigation revealed a high-level interstate smuggling gang. The interrogation of women caught with drugs can lead to many new revelations, on the basis of which other accused may be arrested.

40 crore drug was caught from Bangalore Airport

The DRI team seized cocaine of Rs 40 crore at Bangalore Airport on 18 July. Along with this, the authorities also obtained information about people associated with African gangs in Bangalore city. These drugs were brought by a plane from Qatar. A DRI source said that the person arrested from the airport hails from Uttara India. He is 35 years old and supplied banned materials to African gangs engaged in drug trafficking in Bengaluru. The accused had hidden drugs inside the cover of two superhero comic. Acting on secret information, DRI officials investigated the smuggler’s goods and found two superhero comic books unusually heavy. The DRI said, “Authorities carefully recovered the white powder hidden in the cover of books. The powder was confirmed to be cocaine. The recovered cocaine weighs 4 kg and its international market price is around Rs 40 crore.
