Railway passengers Good news for Northern Railway has approved direct rail service between Udaipur-Chandigarh. Northern Railway has announced the introduction of Udaipur City-Chandigarh-Udaipur City Bio-Weekly Superfast Express (20989/20990). Train number 20989 will leave Udaipur City at 4.05 pm and reach Chandigarh at 9.50 am the next day. In return, train number 20990 will depart from Chandigarh at 11:20 am and reach Udaipur at 5:30 am the next day. Before reaching Chandigarh, the train’s stoppage will be in Rana Pratap Nagar Udaipur, Mavali Junction, Kapasan, Chanderia, Bhilwara, Bijayanagar, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Phulera, Jaipur, Gandhinagar (Jaipur), Dausa, Dausa, Bandikui, Rajgarh, Alwar, Rewari, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Jind, Narwana, Kaithal, Kurukshetra and Ambala.
This train will run twice a week
The train will run twice a week, from Udaipur on Wednesday and Saturday and from Chandigarh on Thursday and Sunday. Although its start date and fare have not been declared yet, but railway officials said that its information will be made public soon. This new service is expected to benefit the passengers from Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula and surrounding areas, as it will give them a direct and convenient contact from the major tourism and cultural center of Rajasthan, Udaipur.
