While Vaibhav Suryavanshi dominated the Youth ODI series, Ayush did wonders in the youth test. On the last day of the second Youth Test against England at Chemsford, India tried to achieve the target of 355 but remained 65 runs away from the victory, as the last rain came and the match was drawn. However, on the last day, Ayush’s fierce century was a matter of discussion and he has recorded a big record.
Ayush Mhatre hit the fastest century in youth test
On the fourth i.e. the last day of the match, England declared their second innings on a score of 324/5 and India got a target of 355. Captain Ayush Mhatre had intended to chase this big target and he expressed his intentions from the beginning of the innings. Mhatre completed his half -century off just 25 balls and continued batting even after that. He took the news of English bowlers fiercely and then took the record of the fastest century in the youth Test in 64 balls. Mhatre broke the record of George Bell of England, who scored a century in 88 balls against Sri Lanka Under-19 in 2022.
The young player, who played for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025, faced 80 balls balls in his innings and scored 126 runs with the help of 13 fours and six sixes. However, despite Mhatre’s blushing century, the Indian team did not win, as the last rained knocked and Team India had to be satisfied with the draw. Earlier, the first youth test of the series was also a draw. In this way, the two-match series ended at 0–0.
