Rishi Kapoor acted in about 150 films in his four -decade long cine career. He had cancer in the year 2018. Rishi underwent treatment in America for 11 months after which he returned to India and he breathed his last on 30 April 2020. He was so obsessed with his work that even during treatment in America, he used to ask and read scripts from filmmakers.

Rishi Kapoor’s last film ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ was released on the OTT platform in the year 2022. Rishi fell ill during the shooting of this film. Then the era of Kovid had arrived. He had passed away before the sage completed the film. Rishi Kapoor shot Sharmaji’s character up to 65 percent. The remaining character was shot by Paresh Rawal.
